I got 500 freedom seeds for 300 the other day. I think I’m about to start pressing my own.

The barrier to entry is the initial setup for equipment, I've thought about doing it before. Then what happens is you need to make X amount at X cost to break even on the equipment over store bought. That doesn't account for your time doing it, so add on another X amount at X cost, which again takes more time. It's a viscous cycle, but can eventually be overcome after many cycles. I liken some reloaders to scratch off buyers. They'll always tell you about the $500 winning ticket, but not the $1500 it cost to get to it.

As a result, I scrapped plans to reload unless I get into a caliber that's exotic and prohibitively expensive to purchase. Or possibly a highly accurate bolt action where I'm not throwing 30rds into a magazine.

Demand is greater than supply right now. Finding ammo is sometimes the hurdle, and when you do it’s usually at an unfair price or limited to two boxes...might get lucky to get 100 rounds if any at times. Some of My biggest reasons for wanting to press my own. I’m not looking at doing it for a profit or return although I won’t complain if I did return profit.
