I feel my life is under threat by crooked police, and Doctors. Not so much teachers, but they are the worst scum. They infect the minds of the children.
Everyone is a cog in the wheel from the cashier to the plumber. Its the majority of government desk jockeys who are not only non essential but absolutely worthless and need to be booted. Start with politicians and local officials and work your way down.
Yup I can't remember the statistic exactly but around 40% of the USA workforce is directly or indirectly paid from taxpayers.
Are you including construction workers in that number?
In truth most of the jobs are subsidized in some way. Construction workers on a whole aren't government employees but they do contract work for the government then like me I work in Oil and Gas industry and if they get a tax break that year it just means the government will raise taxes on someone else to make up their loss from another sector or the economy. They never make less in tax but will spend less in places they promised the money would be allocated towards... always. Our economy is very fragile without the means of production. We aren't the America of 1910 or 1940 with booming industrial prowess we have given that title to Asia not just China.
We got into the world markets to gain strength and influence. We could most certainly refocus our industries back on ourselves once more and have a period where the world figures out how to deal with a more isolationist America.
We could but it will take something bad happening for us to do it. Americans are a sleeping giant who have a history of being reactionary.

I'm a nurse and I think most jobs are essential. They provide people with a source of income to provide food and a home for the basic pursuits of life, liberty, and happiness. Some jobs like bloated government positions and etc society could do without though.
Please don't get too mad at nurses. All the ones I know don't like the Tik Tok dancers as it's a stupid mockery of our profession and all over our area we get stuck with skeleton crews while they get paid to do nonsense.
The Covid unit they created in my hospital chopped the Medical unit in half and they are forcing the Medical staff to work the Covid unit, which they did not sign up for. Either they work it or they are slapped with patient abandonment and fired. In that unit they have one tech that gets stuck sitting in one room, so they have to provide total care and work with a skeleton crew and they are suffering burnout. I'm on immunosuppressants for Chrons and can't work the Covid unit. It sucks watching the life being drained out of my friends. Alot of nurses do sign up cuz they like helping people and then the corporate world uses and abuses them.
Most of us just ask that you clean up your profession but as you can see, cops get very upset when we ask them to do so. One of my best friends is a nurse and believe me, we appreciate the hard work nurses do. It’s the tiktok thing that is a very bad PR campaign. Know that you are appreciated
I'm a retired cop and current nurse. The reason I get upset when people simply insist that police clean up their profession is that it's a terrible oversimplification that doesn't take the public role into account. "Police work" is literally whatever the local community organizing it says it is, (supposedly) within constitutional boundaries. As with other levels of government, the citizenry has been supine and disconnected for far too long. The police necessarily operate under civilian leadership; if we elect crap, then we have crap defining our police agencies. The last thing we want is a constabulary that ignores laws and judges, but then we hope it does when the laws and judges go too far. Although it's nice when street officers can see what's going on and take a stand, the only way to ensure this is to go up the chain and get the political types by the throat.

I quit my job in big tech to go out on my own years ago. I could not take the dumbing down of my profession through large corporations.

The ones in my department don't make tic toc videos cuz we are short staffed and management keeps trying to give us illegal patient loads. State already said 7 was unsafe, but they give us 7, then they tried giving me an 8th, then they said a charge nurse would be training a nurse while having a team of 6 and the new nurse would have a team of 3, so that's be 9 patients under that nurses license which is illegal yet management keeps trying crud like that. Yes I am burned out and frustrated but can't get out due to upcoming surgeries I'm in desperate need of.
Some nurses suck, some don't. The tic toc nurses need to be fired, but it's not right to just group all nurses as being idiotic fairies making stupid dance videos all the time.
