Ive not been able to find an arrest record or anything for him how exactly did they confirm this via DNA, its not like we have a national database of dna so how?

Edit: I understand that they raided his house and got something from his car or whatever but what tipped them off originally... like they had bits of person to deal with what made them think we need to raid this specific persons home to check and see if these are his bits...
