How did the feds test DNA at a crime scene and link it to someone in less that 24 hours, partially on Christmas Day? I'm smelling BS?

We were using rapid dna testing at the border to catch smugglers even this year. You can get a high probability match in a quick period but do a longer period test to have higher accuracy later.

USG has been using it since Iraq and I used it on missions in Afghanistan. You can take a swab test retina scan, and finger prints and it sends it for a quick check, via satellite link; against a database that over the years has become immense.
