There’s no vote on any of this redlines bs. Every GOPe and dim will say they voted on a bill they could not have possibly read because the world was ending and they are very upset now that they know it was full of bullshit. “I’d never vote for that again. Good thing I won’t have to since the president signed it. Vote for me in two years.”

I only got through the first sentence of your reply because I think you missed the point. There is no hard win here, only optics. A veto says fuck you. Redlines say fuck you. Congress can ignore both.
