I'm wrong that he signed it? He says he signed it himself. He says Congress will surely keep promises and agree to talk about his concerns. LOL how fucking gullible are you?

he signed it, along with enacting the Impoundment Control Act with it. meaning the signature is void if Trumps demands on the bill are not met.

Please, correct me if I'm wrong here:

My reading on the Impoundment Control Act suggests that Congress holds all the power. Trump can submit rescissions, but Congress chooses whether or not to accept these rescissions by passing legislation to support it.

The Wikipedia article accurately reflects what I've read from multiple sources. Do you have a source on the voiding of Trump's signature on the budget? Not trying to be difficult, but it would make me feel a lot better if I could verify that his signature will be voided if they do not accept the rescissions.

The voiding signature part as actually false now that I read more of it. Trumps just tossing it back into Congress court. They would have just overridden Trump straight up veto of the bill so this is the best he can do.

Moral of the story, Congress sucks.

Thanks for being honest, even if it doesn't make me feel better about the situation.

I agree that this is the best he can do, and I would expect nothing less from him. Maybe this is a PR play in that, if they reject the rescisions, Congress must take the blame for the bad decision. Or maybe Trump has set a trap that we don't understand yet.
