By signing the bill, he already fucked it up and made this law as is, Congress is not forced to do anything. Republicans will strike down the 2k increase, 230 will be untouched, and there won't be any Congress investigations on election because Congress sucks.

OMG. Did you look up what RESCISSION means? Did you lookup the Impoundment law from 1974 he is using? I'm f'ing done with people that think they know everything and are smarter than Trump.

Trump's signature finalizes the bill. Rescission simply forces Congress to vote on the line items, that's it. If the votes fails, which they will fail, the bill stays as is, because again, it has been signed and approved by the President.

You need to learn your history on past rescissions. They're always ignored or struck down at the floor.

I trust Trump. He is WAY smarter than I am. All he had to do was pocket veto so there must be a reason he did it this way.

Honestly, he simply had no choice here. The bill was overwhelmingly bi-partisan, and all he could do was delay passing it, which means denying relief to millions of Americans.

Pocket veto was not a good option either, because then he would have to take the full blame on denying relief to millions of Americans.

Congress won this battle.
