ALright doomer calm down. Trump sent the bill back to congress with a COMPLETELY revised bill. 2k per person, section 230 repeal, and election fraud investigation.
Trump signed the bill. His requests after the fact have no teeth.
Dems will likely approve the increase of $2k to individuals but GOP Senate will likely not even take it up. And after 45 days all Trump's requests are nothing more than fly farts in the wind.
It's stunning how little people know of the legislative process.
The bill was veto-proof anyway. Congress would have overridden a veto. But I'm sure the President's posturing on this has given him some advantage. The American taxpayer is shafted in every spending bill. No reason why this should be different.
Dems will likely vote quickly to increase the payout to $2k vs $600 but the Senate GOP will likely not even take that up. As for the other line-item requests, Trump has no power to enforce them. He knows it. Congress knows it.
And after 45 days those requests are dust in the wind.
We are fucked with EVERY spending bill! Why should this one be different? Don't make out that this is more than it is. You are wrong if you think that signing this bill is some kind of capitulation. It's not. This bill was veto-proof anyway!
You are just plain wrong on this point my friend. Donald Trump never gives up ground and he never gives something without getting something that he wants in return. You don't know what the negotiation was. Perhaps he got everything he could have gotten, or perhaps this is a strategic retreat, or something else. But spending bills get done and congress throws money around like rice at a wedding. This has absolutely nothing to do with January 6th. I hope to see you there!
Sorry you don't understand the statement. It's nothing more than a face-saving request that is not enforceable.
The bill was signed today AS-IS.
Dems will likely vote to increase the Covid payout to $2k per, but as for all the other line-item requests by Trump, they will be ignored and after 45 days they all go -poof-
I'm not so sure..... These spending bills get done because lots and lots of promises are made. Involved in this are scores of individual deals between politicians, business, state actors, intelligence agencies, and foreign players, small deals, side deals, and promises to perform, 99% of which we know nothing about. This President cares little about saving face, and that's the fatal flaw in your argument. This spending bill is small potatoes when compared to the real fights the President is involved in. Signing this bill is a strategic play. President Trump will be re-elected and that's reality.
You don't understand the statement. It's merely a face-saving gesture.
Trump is REQUESTING Congress make changes after the fact - he signed the bill into law AS-IS. Congress will ignore those requests. The only thing that happens tomorrow is that the House Dems will likely vote on a standalone increase of $2k per for Covid Relief which they intended to do regardless and that the GOP Senate is just as likely to ignore as well.
Since it was a veto proof majority, and would have been on re-vote anyway, we are no worse off. And if congress behaves, we may be better off. If they choose not to behave, it is on them for not doing so.
Veto proof bills are always a fuck you gift from congress. This has been the case my entire life.
You really should read up on the Impoundment Control Act of 1974, that Trump invoked when he signed the bill. As I understand it, the $2000 is about the only thing in the bill that is authorized. Virtually everything else was redlined, meaning it must be renegotiated. So the payments to citizens can happen ASAP, everything else must go through the process again. And since queen Nancy is already on record supporting the $2000 amount, she will have to force a smile while she watches Trump outsmart her.
Dude, I know we love trump but you can't just go around changing facts. In 45 days, if congress chooses not to address the redlined issues, the bill passes as is. Fuck all
The $2k isn't part of what he signed today. Only the $600. Dems will likely vote on the standalone $2k request tomorrow but the GOP Senate are just as likely to not even bring it to a vote.
As for all the other requests by Trump they are just that - requests. After 45 days the bill he signed today AS-IS, goes into full effect.
He should have vetoed it and made Congress vote to override the veto IMO.
Yes, he signed it. That site merely hasn't updated.
The line-item requests Trump wants revised are just that- a request that has no teeth. He knows it and so does Congress.
And after 45 days all of those requests become truly obsolete anyways and the entire bill AS SIGNED BY TRUMP TODAY, goes into effect.
No, it is signed but not in DC.
That is most likely the cause for the delay. It's happened before.
ALright doomer calm down. Trump sent the bill back to congress with a COMPLETELY revised bill. 2k per person, section 230 repeal, and election fraud investigation.
This. He used the Impoundment Control Act of 1974.
It's not enforceable. Sorry to burst your bubble.

nd it still passes if he doesn't sign it. And that would guarantee only 600$ bucks per person. Tell us what you would have done.
Tomorrow the House/Senate vote to see if his new bill gets passed.
No, they don't.
There is no "new bill"
There are only some requests.
Dems will likely vote quickly to increase the payout to $2k vs $600 but the Senate GOP will likely not even take that up. As for the other line-item requests, Trump has no power to enforce them. He knows it. Congress knows it.

Fuck. My hopes for Jan 6th just went drastically down. You're right that this site tries to spin everything into a positive. We got fucked today!

Yes, we did.
Dems in the House will vote on the $2k increase tomorrow but GOP Senate may not even take it up.
As for the specific spending Trump said he wanted revised, Congress will ignore it because after 45 days the bill as signed will go into full effect.
wrongo bongo! read the official trump statement. stop spreading false info.
Sorry you don't understand the statement. It's nothing more than a face-saving request that is not enforceable.

Read the damn statement !! Comprehension is your friend. He never bent a knee, he capped theirs.
No, he didn't.
You don't understand the statement. It's merely a face-saving gesture.

What the fuck would you like him to do. Not sign and it passes anyway? What good would that do?
Everything this guys said is true. They get everything they wanted in the bill in 45 days.
BINGO.
People seem unwilling to face reality.
Trump's "request" for Congress to revisit the bill doesn't mean shit. He has no power to make them do anything.
Since it was a veto proof majority, and would have been on re-vote anyway, we are no worse off. And if congress behaves, we may be better off. If they choose not to behave, it is on them for not doing so.

NOPE - doesn't work that way.

Impoundment act says otherwise.

Not enforceable. It's nothing more than a face-saving attempt by Trump.
Bro you're getting downvoted for telling the truth.
And that's a big reason why China is winning this war.
Sad to see when truth in here is treated the same as Twitter, Reddit, FB, etc.
Blindly clinging to false hope is putting as at greater risk of being totally unprepared for what is coming.
WE.ARE.AT.WAR.
You do not know what to hell you are talking about. If you sign a paper BUT MAKE revisions it does not BIND it until finalized.
Ironic statement right here
