Look it up man. Hitler was under no obligation to go to war against the US. His alliance with Japan would only have kicked in if Japan was attacked.

Right after the Pearl Harbor attack, Hitler had Germany declare war on the US. It was extremely stupid, as it is not a foregone conclusion that Americans would have supported a declaration of war against Germany. They certainly would have gone to war against Japan.
