The 45 days is in congress’s court. They can downvote a new rescission bill immediately. The president can’t do shit if they decide to deny his requests and vote no on a new rescission bill.

But they'd never do that... They have his back right?

He should have stood strong and never signed that bill. It represents everything he was supposed to be fighting against. Congress could have created a separate, standalone bill for $2000. Instead, we're giving liberal institutions that aren't even open for business billions of our dollars for no reason, we're funding fucking gender education in foreign countries, and we're handing out cash to other countries just because... all in exchange for the vague promise to "review" Section 230 and "take a look" at election fraud.

They can easily downvote immediately and make him look stupid. That's a win for them. What possible reason would they keep their word? I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see this as anything other than an incredibly flawed misstep by Trump.

Someone will be along shortly to call you a doomer or something. Telling the crowd here that they're being delusional has no effect. It's weird as fuck.

He can literally spend the money allocated in the bill for anything he wants.

17
FireannDireach 17 points ago +21 / -4

No, he can't. The ICA74 act was passed to stop Nixon to specifically not do that. If Congress passes on his recission requests, the Executive branch HAS to spend the money.

16
thunderstorm 16 points ago +18 / -2

This has nothing to do with the ICA74. It's about the flexibility the president has during a national emergency with funds allocated in an omnibus.

8
FireannDireach 8 points ago +11 / -3

Nonsense. If that were true the President wouldn't have used the word recission in his statement.

14
thunderstorm 14 points ago +15 / -1

The recissions let's him impound funding for up to 45 Congressional days. The National Emergency Act let's him redirect the funds wherever he sees fit.

4
FireannDireach 4 points ago +9 / -5

It lets him impound the funds specific to his request, not all of it.

You're posting nonsense.

Specifically all of it

He made a deal to increase it to $2000 when he signed the bill. That's unrelated to how the president can use money allocated in an omnibus bill for anything he wants during a national emergency.

Pelosi and the Democrats are putting up a standalone bill to increase the funds from $600 to $2000. They have all the Dem votes and POTUS has agreed to sign the standalone for the increase. Pelosi is asking the GOP to "join dems and POTUS"... KEK!

As for the rest, Trump is putting a hold on the pork in order to pressure this transitionary congress into removing it.

Supposedly he has promises from Congress (no elaboration on that yet) to take action on not only 230 but election fraud as well... meaning we literally have no idea what Congress will look like when this 45 day period expires.

Brilliant move by POTUS, especially given that both of these bills were essentially veto-proof, so any type of veto would have been essentially usesess.

The Dream isn't reality. How will the Republicans control the House? Does several Communists Democratic House Members die or something before the New Congress is sorn in? I'm confused in what that guy is thinking other wise?

Litehouse 19 points ago +19 / -0

A lot of seats were lost to fraud, don’t forget.

TrumpChampBelt 10 points ago +10 / -0

Bingo

July_1776 5 points ago +5 / -0

This, exactly.

I hope he has something up his sleeve on this whole situation. I'd love to flip a bunch of seats in this whole process.

HighFrequency 12 points ago +17 / -5

45 days puts it outside inauguration. Declas of EVERYTHING (more than fraud) will keep Trump in office, and allow all the traitors to be removed and remanded for military tribunals, so they won't be able to vote. It will have to be delayed until new elections take place to fill all the vacant seats. Genius!

mythbusterr 3 points ago +9 / -6

He hasn't even declassified ONE thing. You're talking about declassifying EVERYTHING

16
HighFrequency 16 points ago +17 / -1

He declassified the findings on the Russia collusion hoax, for starters, which implicate HRC, Biden and Obama. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/declassified-trump-russia-probe-docs-to-date-what-to-know

More to come. He has always been five steps ahead. I ain't giving up on him now.

Whatever the hell is happening. I will say this...

The madman knows more than we do about what's going to happen in the future. In regards to who will control congress after inauguration and delcass, etc, or possibly other turns of events... well...

All I can say is let's see what happens.

If President Trump can get congress to do what he said they're going to do with the cover replied bill, then he is the guy that is currently controlling congress & the he will one who will be running the show 45 days hence. What hidden leverage does he have that is convincing congress to behave itself? There is certainly no visible reason why they should be obedient.

If the doomers get thier way the dems will control everything. The runoff votes loom large regardless of how anything else actually shakes out. Vote even if you don't think it matters.

3
FireannDireach 3 points ago +4 / -1

He can ask for SOME funding to be delayed by recission request.

2
ChuckedIntoAVan 2 points ago +2 / -0

Is this why the R’s were on board, to get the checks out quick and then create fuckery with the rest of it? No, I know they are the Uniparty and just as corrupt as the Dems. But it would be hilarious if true.

Bullshit. He caved. They probably made him phony promises about support on Jan 6, and they’ll stab him in the back.
