Go. In. Anyway. Hold church services. Paul would be ashamed. Did the apostles say— we better not spread the word of Jesus because someone might be upset about it, and we might get in trouble? No! This is the exact sentiment that has kept me from attending services for years. I’ve never found a church where I felt at home. I can guarantee if I was a member of a church, and they stopped holding services because of this crap, I wouldn’t go back once things opened up again. “If the Lord is with us, who can be against us?” Where’s the faith? Where’s the trust? Have they prayed about what to do? If so, did the Lord answer to them that they should comply with this and not hold services? Your pastor is supposed to be a shepherd. I also understand I’m saying this from a perspective of someone who hasn’t been faced with these decisions, but I would hope that I would have made a stronger decision.

Oh, C'MON, VoodooChild13! Surely you can stoop just a little bit - from your highness - and lend your leaderdship, financial help and prayer strength to boost some Church, even if they all are beneath you. I realize you're far too important to actually become engaged with getting the dirty work done but HEY! Take a walk on the wild side! See how the poor people live. The Lord God might actually USE YOU to do something more than just punch a keyboard and spill your venom. Good Luck!

It’s almost like you didn’t read my whole comment to see where I said I understand I’m not the one having to make the decision for an entire church. It shows qualities of a bad shepherd/pastor. I’m still in disbelief that churches in America collectively put up with this. Apostles were jailed and killed for spreading the word in the New Testament, and Christians in large churches won’t stand up to this, exercise their first amendment rights, and simply stay open? What are the police going to do to congregations of 500+ Members at dozens of churches in any given large city if they just hold services? Nothing. Who’s authority is higher— the governor’s or The Lord’s?
