This happened in Canada, and although I would like to think this would cause massive upheaval if it happened here, with everything that's happened in 2020 I have my doubts now.
I can no longer watch movies or play games where everyone comes together at the end to defeat the big bad guy. Rather, a more accurate interpretation would be for 99% of the population to just approach the enemy and ask for the boot to be placed on their neck.
