It's NOT the color or the vent, it the position in relation to the small window. Fbi pic the vent is higher than window. Google street view the vent is almost even (in height) to top of window. Different model year rv. Stripe is irrelevant and debatable. Position of vent not debatable.
I don't think the RV matters so much as it wasn't an RV that caused the explosion. But it does look like the same RV, the line at the top or what some are calling another stripe could just be a shadow line, I agree also that something changed with the vent or duct on the side. Who knows, people plug holes for heat, air, whatever in RVs. Everything else is exactly the same.
Maybe the duct cover is simply removed in bottom pic. Amd are the stripes reflective. It looks like the top one is there at the top. Simply a different shade because of the lights reflecting on it.
I washed semi trucks and RVs for 3 years, and you are correct. It's paint. I saw a picture of this RV from a different angle and even the grill was different. Of course one could argue that he swapped it out and repainted the RV stripes, but that wouldn't make sense if he was planning on blowing himself up in it.

If you see the RV from other angles, it appears to only have one stripe.

If the stripes are reflective they should react the same - if one vanishes the other should too.
HOWEVER, living in Florida, I see LOTS of RVs and have yet to see reflective stripes way up there. It’s paint.
