A closer look at U.S. deaths due to COVID-19
"This trend is completely contrary to the pattern observed in all previous years. Interestingly, as depicted in the table below, the total decrease in deaths by other causes almost exactly equals the increase in deaths by COVID-19. This suggests, according to Briand, that the COVID-19 death toll is misleading. Briand believes that deaths due to heart diseases, respiratory diseases, influenza and pneumonia may instead be recategorized as being due to COVID-19."
"The Editors-in-Chief decided to delete the article because of these urgent concerns, explaining on social media that the piece was being taken out of context and used to spread dangerous misinformation."
People can't handle this dangerous information apparently.
It was around August 30th. The cdc listed only died of covid and it was only 6% of those who died. I looked now and I don’t see only covid deaths listed. But here is the link which did show if back at the end of August. I should have taken a screen shot.
It's saying 6% had corona listed as the cause of death but they're leaving out viral pneumonia, ARDS, etc etc etc which (especially in summer) was absolutely caused by covid and accordingly should be counted as a covid death
It says "For 6% of the deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned.", exactly as described. You are correct though, it is being misinterpreted. The CDC clearly states "only cause mentioned" meaning there were likely comorbidities in those cases as well, they just weren't listed, and the real deaths caused solely by COVID is 0% IMHO.
I saw this and then recently saw an MSM article saying the total number of deaths in 2020 will be half a million higher than 2019. That is what the normies believe and that the years is not over so the 2020 death toll will rise more. And CDC hasn’t released official death toll numbers for 2019 just provisional numbers. So jury is still out but will probably be higher.
In October, the CDC issued a report saying that as of Oct. 15, there had been 299,028 excess deaths, with two-thirds of those attributed to COVID-19.
What gets me though is that even if the death toll is higher, linking the cause of death to COVID is a slippery slope based on all the comments on this thread. Could be due to other maladies by and large. The psychological effect of unemployment and lockdowns would result in more deaths. But this will never be reported as the cause.
Look at the "Weekly Number of Deaths" infograph. You can select whichever state you want, or look at the U.S. as a whole. You can see we have clearly had a lot more people die this year than normal.
I need a source on the 6% statistic so I can convince my paranoid friend that it's nit as bad as the media is saying.

“dangerous misinformation” or what was previously known as “the truth.” We are at peak 1984.
I had a rabbit named the Bitchy Keen, or the Keen for short. What timeline is this? lol
Edit: name-->named
Thanks. Is there a source where the CDC says that only 6% of the deaths are actually caused by Big Rona?

Edit. I found it. Go to Comorbidities and there it is. https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid_weekly/index.htm
Along with their detailed descriptions of why masks don't work and why we should not wear one
Gone forever
I believe the 6% was calculated from information provided by the CDC; I haven't seen that direct quote on there.

Look at New York for a good example.
Deaths from all causes is still up by 465K from last year:

Last I checked, it was plainly stated on the CDC website in the main covid page.
It's on the CDC website. Look for Covid provisional deaths.
