Dead weight. To a greater or lesser extent we are all dead weight as it is extremely difficult to exist completely outside of society (as an example, the Korths are close). The difference in gangrenous dead weight and dead weight that can be revived is those who do not see it vs those who do in themselves. Those who can see their own dead weight then try to do something about it to make one's self more resilient, independent and less vulnerable to the very society that we all depend upon.

Many people who don't work and pay taxes, or work in government and are still being paid, seem to not care about shutdowns and the damage it is doing.
