I'm signed up for the beta but suspicious that it is available and blocked by legislation. I looked up their actual orbits and I should be in the available area.

Barthaneous 9 points ago +9 / -0

Unfortunately for internet cable I can't. The entire neighborhood I'm in is controlled by AT&T.

6
meme_oil 6 points ago +6 / -0

i call that a regional monopoly. same deal for your electricity! one choice is no choice!

6
Barthaneous 6 points ago +6 / -0

It is. But the developers made the deal thus the many homeowners who live here have no choice in the matter. Same as the electricity company cannot be changed either. It's bogus.

Lol I'm not moving just because if internet providers. I could just cancel then and get a hotspot. I will be moving hopefully in another couple years to a non HOA community and one home with at least acre or more.

3
marishiten 3 points ago +4 / -1

Yeah! Just move! That 300k house you just bought that you just put down 80g's on? Fuck it! Just move to another city and state! Get a new job! Uproot your kids from their schools!

That'll tech them!

Please stop. Drilling hundreds of thousands of dollars for a home and then being told to just uproot your entire life is insulting. Stop.

marishiten 0 points ago +1 / -1

Yep. The PUC calls them a 'controlled monopoly'. Funny, as the PUC is typically made up of previous middle/higher management of telecoms companies who own shares still.

It's more prominent on the west side of the country to do shit like this and smaller cities/developers/suburbs work out deals to be the only game in town. Most of the council members are bought off so you'd be struggling to even get words out in town meetings.

3
Black_Coffee2 3 points ago +3 / -0

https://www.patriotmobile.com/

I haven't used them, someone else posted it awhile ago.

3
MasterKatarn 3 points ago +3 / -0

wish I could but I don't own a cell anymore only have a company one and our company uses AT&T

3
Donsthegoat 3 points ago +3 / -0

Lol randall Stephenson stepped down in July.

3
axrevolutionai 3 points ago +4 / -1

every cell phone company is cucked, so I'll use the one with the best signal and that's AT&T in my area.

thats it! give in! abandon all hope! whats it matter anyway?! thats the spirit of a man that yearns to be free again!

0
marishiten 0 points ago +2 / -2

Yeah! Because fuck having reliable service for something critical like communications devices! All these cucks and needing something to work if shit goes sideways. What a bunch of selfish faggots, right my guy?!

Let's shame the fuck out people for picking the lesser of evils when they should just live in the woods with no power, water, phone, internet, plumbing, or toilets!

I just did, feels great man!

dont forget your local news affiliates...

2
BlackSalt 2 points ago +2 / -0

Already did. All they had around here was Tmobile.

It's still an oligopoly. Same with the internet. The infrastructure costs so much that it's hard to compete.

1
marishiten 1 point ago +2 / -1

It's not only the overhead. The ISP's that are already there will actively sue the fuck out of any other ISP that tries to set up shop and will sue them so they can't use their backbones or hubs which cripples any plan the new ISP would have on top of the city being in bed with the already situated ISPs and will actively refuse to give the new ISP's any permits.

1
ticomfreak 1 point ago +1 / -0

T-Mobile/Sprint is worse than AT&T, already going as far as censoring people's texts.

Verizon also has their own issues.

1
astral-cracker 1 point ago +1 / -0

Try and send a tdw link to a tmobile phone

1
BlackSalt 1 point ago +1 / -0

I do all the time. It works fine.

2
GeorgePatton 2 points ago +2 / -0

Ham radio. Its easier than you think to get started with it and get licensed.

2
Theredpump555 2 points ago +2 / -0

I promised free internet to all in the late 90's and took government money and never gave it. Let me be your provider!

2
Camel-Toe-Harris 2 points ago +2 / -0

You really have to pick who you dislike the least. They all suck in their own way. I personally use visible. Only pay $25 a month with unlimited everything and no throttling after ever. Unlimited hotspot usage too. They are owned by Verizon and use Verizon’s towers. Not trying to promote anybody, but fuck paying $120 a month for 2 phones. I hope a few people can save some money every month by changing.

1
PsylentFox 1 point ago +1 / -0

It is unfortunate but AT&T is the only provider in my area. :(

No internet or anything else. Hopefully these fuck heads get removed once 230 is gone.

1
fbeeee 1 point ago +1 / -0

The only reasonable alternative here would be Starlink.

1
FreeJack2020 1 point ago +1 / -0

This is funny because back in my libtard days, I disliked at&t because they donated to the bush campaign, 😂 lol

CIA operative

1
RARA2 1 point ago +1 / -0

He retired.

1
Bubbahax 1 point ago +1 / -0

Randall is retiring at the end of 2021. I used to work at AT&T and I've met him. He seemed like a decent guy.

The new head of the company is William Kennard.

1
awsure 1 point ago +1 / -0

Stephenson is not the CEO any longer.

1
PonySoldier66 1 point ago +1 / -0

I've only been saying this for 25 years when I was in the ATT server rooms and there was a locked room with cables going in and cables coming out. No one would admit what it was, but we all knew.

0
marishiten 0 points ago +1 / -1

So? They lock their racks. It's normal when you're hosting government switches/servers. Shit, Rackspace and AWS lock every single rack regardless of company.

It's normal. It's to keep people that shouldn't be in there out fucking with stuff they know nothing about or have mal intentions.

Where's the fire, bud? It's standard operating procedures.

I suspect he's alluding to a black room like 641A.

ErmaMaggard 1 point ago +1 / -0

People with weird mouths like that give me the heebie jeebies. Epsteins mouth looked similar, there are others but I can't recall them right now. Mnuchin has a mouth like this and I just can't bring myself to trust him because of it. They always seem to turn out to be deviants.

1
markolbb 1 point ago +1 / -0

Okay I get that, but who should we use for wireless service then? Isn't Verizon or whoever else just as bad?

1
WarningSirenDGAFMODS 1 point ago +1 / -0

I have ties to the Atlantic Council and ATA

marishiten -1 points ago +1 / -2

Yeah, good luck with that! Since AT&T owns about 80% of all the copper and fiber installed in the United States.

It's not going to happen. AT&T hardware is used in every. Single. ISP infrastructure. No matter what ISP company it is (unless you have Google Fiber in those 4 cities that allowed them to law their own fiber).

AT&T is literally too big to fail. The reliance is too great.
