If your DC plan relies on you getting food/water after arriving you will be a burden. Treat this as a survival exercise with preparations for being stranded.

Here is my plan that I've been working on. I was going to drive there and planned on sleeping in my truck. I was going to stock up on foods and water, and have lots of warm cloths and blankets. Gloves hand warmers etc........I have no idea where I will park, but Everything I need would be in the truck.
