The bill would die if McConnel didn't already say he would maintain session on the 29th and onward if he had to.

Even after a pocket veto, they could just push the same bill through again.

If what you're saying is true about the 45 additional days, it may just be the better option if he plans to expel half of congress (at least) with charges of corruption.

Either way, I agree the stickied post is missing a few important details that only a seasoned congressional lawyer would know the truth about. As of yet, I doubt even a few of them have bothered to look up the actual procedure.

He cannot stay in session long enough. Because the new congress has to start. Thus, out of session.

They have a 3 day window to buffer such events, from what I read on .gov
