When I was a young lad living at Nellis AFB- my neighbor and I would gather up these red and black ants and do this very same thing. These ants are much larger than any I've ever seen. BTW- the blacks always won.

I wont bother telling you about the experiments with gasoline and matches on ant hills,,,,,
