My grandfather is 94. I told my dad to not take him to the hospice if he falls ill. If anything, we can all pitch in as a family and get a live in nurse. At that age and under the circumstances, family is more important.
Hell, even if we couldn't afford a nurse, I would still rather have him home.

You can literally sign up for hospice to have a visiting doctor, nurse, aide, chaplain and a whole slew of other things come to your home to provide a whole slew of services that you and your family can pick based on what is best for everyone involved.
