My Trump-supporting family keep saying things like "if only Trump had been more presidential on twitter, he wouldn't have lost the suburbs." Or "if only all those people hadn't voted for Libertarians in Georgia. That was more than the margin to win." I want to scream at them. I even made them all watch the Georgia fraud video and they are still saying this crap. They keep talking about 2022 and 2024 as if fraud is not an issue.

It's amazing how thick it is even with Trump supporters. I don't understand how so many people I know can see through the media BS and support Trump, but then still be influenced by the media BS in other ways.

People want to have faith in the system. It’s scary to think something you put your faith in is broken. Same reason people who get abused will rationalize their abusers behavior.

Yes, they're dependent on the abuser so they can't stand up to them.

Multiple societal brainwashing influences have told them “try harder next time!” and no more arguing with the umpires allowed. sigh

That "more presidential" argument always annoyed me. It's such a feminine train of thought. Why should the leader of our country, the person supposed to be working for our best interests, be a meely-mouthed simpering fool? Screw that, I want it to be someone who's going to FIGHT for us. Someone who isn't going to cave to pressure to get what we need.

I tell my family that I voted for the President, not the Pope.

When I step back and consider, I think it's utterly unbelievable what they've managed to do in regards to perception of the WH Executive Office of the President. I think they've honestly been fairly successful in convincing a portion of the population that Congress is in charge and the President reports to them when, in reality, that obviously isn't the case.
