Prepping is good for when inevitably SHTF!!! Next step is getting a pressure cooker to can and preserve my foods, as well as a generator to secure an alternative energy source.

I planted a .308 tree. I knew ammo was going to be in short supply, so I figured I would harvest my ammo. Turned out great! I got plenty of .308 from that tree. I plan to plant next year for 5.56 and 9mm. Everyone and their mom is gonna want that.
PRAISE THE LORD AND PASS THE AMMUNITION!!!

Bookmarked for when the time comes to purchase! Thank you, Totem, very cool!
I bought some old corporate files for the maps and things in them and you find that back in WWII companies that owned land loaned out plots for people to plant victory gardens. Bet that never happens again.
You may want to think about a greenhouse given this time of year the climate's not particularly conducive to growing plants in a lot of the country.
Same here. I invested in plants, and IBCs to gather rainwater, and also sheet mulched my backyard. I canned almost 200 quarts of food this summer. I built a small greenhouse with a rocket mass heater inside that heats a copper line attached to two old water heaters if heating/gathering my own water becomes necessary. I also built a small scale hydro system that runs off of solar and batteries.
As part owner of a company in the industry I can tell this has been a very popular response to the Coof Flu. In the last 5 decades the U.S. has gone from being a net exporter of produce, meaning we produced all we consumed and exported the excess, to only producing about 10-15% of the produce we consume. It happened because foreign workers were cheaper and more willing to do the work on produce farms. Strategically, it has left the US population vulnerable to famine in war or other supply chain disruptions. I'm not trying to war profiteer here, but growing your own food may make the difference if things get bad.
In famine, the extreme lack of access to food, much less to nutritious food, means that these needs are even less likely to be met. ... Nutrition for pregnant women and children is of utmost importance to prevent each of these conditions, but these groups are at even greater risk during famines. Corn, soy, sorghum and wheat crops won't sustain a healthy population alone but we learned that already in WWII, and so the Victory Gardens were promoted. Not exactly sure what I wrote that was controversial and perhaps you're just an argumentative sort.
You're talking about commercial farming, which is primarily nutrient poor cereal grains. If it weren't for the billions ADM spent on lobbying, a lot of things in our food wouldn't even be USDA approved for human consumption. Plus the US is a big country; it's a helluva long way from South Dakota, Kansas, or Nebraska to NYC or Miami. In a war scenario, the odds of keeping long supply lines open might be minimal.
When it starts? Got news for you.
Touche!
Wow. Hey, gun noobie here. My father and I just recently purchased some firearms, but are pretty limited to the shops around us. Any websites you can recommend for ammo, accessories and anything inbetween?
NM Just tried and they will not....damn I can't wait until Feb when I move the fuck outta here
THANKS FREN! Newb here too, I know Cali is pretty strict, do they just not ship to Cali or do they ship to an FFL do you know?
I’d think for CA, they will have to ship to a FFL, though I’m not current on CA ammo laws.
Oh boy. You're a lifesaver. Much thanks, fren!!!
3d printing firearms
Wow. neat. What is a good 3d printer for doing something like that?
Open Source kit, but all quality materials and no junk. Everything fits well, are proven components and works with minimal tuning. You can easily buy cheaper kits but expect it to turn into a part time job tuning and keeping it running. I enjoy putting things together and fooling with them but I also wanted something that I know works. I'd rather be printing than fooking with something half-ass.

You're an angel sent straight from Heaven
A backyard garden will not produce enough calories to feed you. However, it can be a great supplement to your supplies and the produce is much better than even food you get from the local farmer's market.
Planning on making at least five more raised beds. Be there, will be wild!
damn I wish I liked veggies lol
I've been thinking along the same lines. With all that's going on, I'm thinking it would be good to be more self sufficient.
Definitely wouldn't hurt! Worst case scenario, you have a beautiful garden and a source of fresh, homegrown food for you and your family/friends!!!
Am calm. I'd just rather be prepared than caught sleeping ;)
