Basically got kind of a run-around but an interesting tidbit at the end. I couldn't talk to the sheriff but the secretary put this other guy on the phone when I gave the reason for my call:

Him: "You know those signs no shirt-no shoes no service? Well just add mask to the end of that." Me: "Yes, but it's kind of an uneven playing field because the stores are being fined 1,000 or more dollars for not following these mandates. My question is, if a store refused to follow and was fined, and then refused to go to court, etc, wouldn't there reach a point where the police had to get involved? And so my question is when the rubber meets the road where the sheriff stands on enforcing these kinds of mandates." Him: Well it's not really us it's the health department. They set the rules. If they say there's a fine for the mask that's their decision. Me: Yeah, that is true, but what if a store did refuse to comply with the law? It is the sheriffs department to enforce the constitution. I am curious as to the position you guys hold on that aspect of things..

The interesting tidbit was a little something he said at the end. He basically said it's not the polices job to enforce these fines. If someone gets a fine and doesn't pay it, he doesn't know or really seem to care. Is that just because it would be handled by state police?

I tried to be as respectful as possible and reiterated that I'm a law abiding guy but that I do believe in the constitution and find the mask mandates unconstitutional. Said I wasn't looking to cause any trouble but I wanted to be more involved as a citizen and at least call and ask the question. I get kind of paranoid making these sorts of calls so I hope it was taken in a non-hostile way..

Thinking of calling the department of health next. I'm really trying to give myself anxiety today.

Go to Walmart of a local urban grocery store and pay cash for a burner phone. Use that to make these calls.

We all hate mask mandates and stand against them but when trying to talk to the authorities about it we should be afraid and disguise our identities. I understand what you're saying and in some way you're probably right, but don't you see the problem with that?

💯 We are not criminals for questioning why our rights are being stripped.

Agreed. I wouldn't be surprised if you are now on some do not travel list and your going to get swatted soon

You guys are afraid of simply asking basic questions to your local police, this is how we got into this mess. Stop trying to freak me out you bastards. If we can't ask our own elected officials a basic question of whether they'll enforce mask mandates than right leaning people legit have no balls at all. And I'm as big a wimp as they come.

No they're not "all" oath breaking traitors. We've seen reports of many sheriffs plainly stating they will not enforce governor corona mandates.

Erie County NY the sheriff is not involved, that's where the guy who is tasked with collecting the fines set the rules up so there basically is no time limit to pay and you can pay them a dollar a year if you want, or something like that.

I called the local department of public health and there's literally no option to talk to a real human being. The best they did was let me leave a message, which I did, saying politely that I would like information on covid-19 rules and regulations regarding businesses, mandates, and governor orders. I tried to sound neutral or even pro-regulations, like I was just a normie concerned about following the rules. But the fact that these people won't even let you speak to an employee there is disgusting.

Did you try starting off saying you wanted to report a violation? I bet that gets a live human.

In order to report someone they had a separate number I had to call. LIke every option was a separate number. "If you want information about testing, call 555-5555. If you want to report a business, cal 444-4444." And then at the end, if you'd like to leave a message, do so." No option to talk to a human being.

If the report number goes to voicemail there should be a lot of reports being placed for vacant lots, politician's home addresses, and other things along those lines.

Yeah but I would feel uncomfortable lying to these people, "making a false report" or whatever else. It's freaky enough just calling with an honest question or two. Lol. Plus I think it's just best to go about things in an honest way. Can rest easier.

It's civil disobedience. Each time they send someone out to investigate a report it's time they can't spend hassling actual businesses.

I suppose eventually they might get wise and start googling addresses first, but you just start saying it's a new business and they probably have to still go look.

Yeah I hear you. Well I won't tell you or others not to do it. But I know I would feel all kinds of stress after making a call where I didn't tell the truth. Even just making the one I just made, was stressful for me. Lol.
