Big fan of Vlad, as an American of Romanian descent, good modern day parallels his brother wanted to roll over for the Ottomans like the republican establishment, but GEOTUS like Vlad took the reins and fought back. Vlad is a weird character at points, I would suggest looking into the history, plenty of interesting things, the weird morality test he would set up for normal citizenry without them knowing, the fact that he killed a bunch of Wallachian nobility, and he ordered the impaling of Turks in order demoralize Turkish troops by seeing their former soldiers’ heads cutoff on their way to battle.

To add to that, I thought/(possibly assumed) he did it because of a superstitions about proper burial in some muslim sects. Needing to be buried in a shroud that partially preserves the body and all that.

Interesting haven’t heard of that, I might look into it. If you told me where you heard it from I would appreciate it.
