Any advice helps, even if it’s general.

Every hotel I look at, says this:

IMPORTANT: this destination may have COVID 19 travel restrictions in place, INCLUDING specific restrictions for lodging. Check any national, local, or health advisories for this destination before you book.

That worries me. Any advice ?

Local here. If you are transporting a weapon, stay in VA. No firearms (essentially) in DC or MD. VA is a lot safer. If you want to be close in - Rosslyn (Arlington), Pentagon City and Crystal City are all on the Metro lines. Springfield, Alexandria (Old Town) are a little farther out, but still on Metro.

To the best of my knowledge, Coonman hasn't put any restrictions in place for hotels. Recently, it was determined that COVID becomes infectious only after 1000pm when alcohol is served, so restaurants have to stop alcohol sales then.

I’d stay on the VA side; it’s more pede friendly than the MD side. I’d try to stay closer in than Tyson’s, as the hotels are pricey and the walk to the metro will be a little further and probably cold.
