The Democrats know mail in ballots and the adjudication loophole are the 2 tools that elevated Biden to a false victory. They know Trump has replaced nearly 400 federal judges - even if those judges were tools of the Federalist Society. Why give up the ring of power? Covid gives them an excuse to wipe clean any real resistance in 2022. Biden's advisors have already suggested lockdowns endure until 2021-2022. Then they can fill in the judicial branch with 500 Sotomayor clones.

This fundamentally can't last forever, but they can stretch it out to justify making the Electoral changes semi permanent and then bring back some 'piecemeal options.'
