The problem with using the second amendment option is that there is the problem of what happens next. I don't really trust the contemporarily educated crop of Americans to write a new constitution. If anything, we should start with the old one, and make stronger and less ambiguous the parts that got away from us through the courts. For instance, taxes (direct/indirect), commerce clause, general welfare clause, and of course the second amendment itself to include ammunition etc.
