I've studied forensics. I'm not currently working in that field, but my dream was always to be a forensic scientist. My specific area of study was ballistics and explosives. What can I say, I like things that go boom.
In this amount of time, they couldn't have realistically done any kind of reconstruction on the device. There would be hundreds if not thousands of fragments spread over an enormous area. A=π r^2. A 100' blast radius would have evidence strewn over an area of 31,416 square feet. Some report debris from the blast landing TWO BLOCKS AWAY. Do the math.
