he should fund them going to charter schools and watch them all leave public school faster than Bill runs when he sees Hillary's vejajay

July_1776 257 points ago +264 / -7

i'd be so happy about that.

every public school should be burned to the ground.

161
BS2020 161 points ago +163 / -2

that would be awesome -- more focus on children and less on teacher's unions worried more about teacher's salaries, benefits, time-off, tenure, and still getting paid during a pandemic when others are going bankrupt

I’m surprised there are no teacher tik tok videos. Same inflated sense of self-worth as nurses

71
tombombadil 71 points ago +72 / -1

There would be if the teachers were actually in school. Most of them haven’t set foot in their workplace since March.

I am a teacher as well. Any group of a few million employees is going to have plenty shitty people. The problem is that the pay system in public schools encourages teachers to be shitty employees. You don’t get paid more for good work and you don’t get paid less for poor work. There is no incentive to do better. There is only incentive to do the least amount of work possible. Mediocrity is inevitable in any system like that.

P.S.: Great username. DUCKS FLY TOGETHER

Same. I’m a HS teacher. I share so little in common with these lazy, ideologically-possessed whiners.

It also currently HEAVILY selects for young women, where as in the past it was much more diverse.

9
patriothorse 9 points ago +10 / -1

Comes down to character. I never did shitty work just because the pay was low. You are educating children afterall... not just stocking store shelves or putting gas in tanks.

Not all teachers are pieces of shit (hi, am a teacher). Teachers were massively stressed and were overworked to the core this last semester. They actually had to work, unlike the tik tok nurses) edit: let me clarify, the teachers that are worth a damn were worked to their core. I don't deny that there are worthless pieces of shit as teachers, I'm just saying, there are good ones still out there.

1

I homeschool (one graduate, one to go) my kids. I ran into a LOT of professional teachers that chose to homeschool their oen kids.

1
SvixGale 1 point ago +1 / -0

I gotta be honest;

I went to public schools my whole life, but was very fortunate to live in a very nice neighborhood. Our school district has actually been nationally recognized as being one of the best & it really was. I had a great experience, mostly pretty awesome teachers.

However, this was quite a long time (decades) ago, well before schools became literal gulags. Sure, some of the instruction / history was left-leaning, but nothing like what it has devolved to today.

Not all public schools are bad, just like not all cops are bastards, and not ALL democrats are communists.

Communists still aren't human though.

Teachers are worse than tictok nurses. At least nurses are just bored with nothing to do. My kid's teachers can't even bother to crawl out of bed and teach a zoom lesson. they just post notes for kids to copy and give them the actual test to study. Only 17% of them were "willing" to go back to in person teaching. Union teachers say they won't come back because of fear of covid, and our schools didn't reopen. They much prefer to "teach" via zoom and get full pay. So 83% of teachers in my school system are complete lazy worthless evil pieces of shit.

14
KillaKrayon 14 points ago +14 / -0

I'll admit Public Education is somewhat a sham, I'm not in a state where we have Teacher Unions. Benefits are minimal, time-off is generally the same as students, and I'm blessed to still be getting paid during this pandemic but I received a $6500.00 pay cut and still responsible for paying $2000 for licensure course cost this year. Not everyone in public education is a progressive commie, actually I don't believe politics should be allowed even on a bumper sticker in the parking lot where public education is concerned. But it is what it is I guess. We were in person learning until the week before Christmas break and so for no one is coming back until after the 11th so far.

9
BS2020 9 points ago +9 / -0

i agree -- no politics in school unless its in a political science class and opinions are discussed -- not forced. Good luck when school starts back up. I'm all for tech, but in-school learning with other children is vital as far as I'm concerned

4
oraoraoraora 4 points ago +4 / -0

It's not just that politics are directly discussed in school. The textbooks and other materials are prepackaged to teach them versions of history that are dumbed down, simplified, and steer them towards communism.

1
chez_blunts 1 point ago +2 / -1

Even then it should be about how politics works and not ideological discussions.

4
Saltyminer11 4 points ago +4 / -0

I agree. I'm in a non union state and until my kids hit middle school it was a very good program. The teachers I know are very good. School board, superintendent not so much. Thanks for being a good teacher.

2
Stanwyk74 2 points ago +2 / -0

I have no problem with politics in schools IF parents can spend their voucher in any school they wish, public or private. Decisions need to be made knowing the cashflow is potentially I impacted.

6
MichiganMAGAMan 6 points ago +6 / -0

My dad is on a school board and I have like 3 teachers in the family. Let's just say they don't get along the last 8ish years. My dad also does not get along with the people he works with and every conservative was slowly weeded out by new young progressive blood. I am guessing my dad will be done to soon he is fed up with the teacher union.

A shame to. He brought back the archery club and construction classes.

Funny you should mention this. My home town is looking to sell off a closed elementary school not for something like Vet housing, or a park or something. No they want to build a ton of low income fucking apartments, in the middle of our upper middle-class - rich town, which is already surrounded by fucking shit holes as it is. People in town are threatening to fuck with the build site as it is though and they had to set up a propaganda website to try and sway opinion after the local moms set up a "Fuck this shit" website first. Can't wait to get the fuck outta here and move somewhere quiet again, I'm only home cause my parents need an extra pair of hands right now, I miss the country already lol.

That pisses me off...why are leftists controlling every aspect of society? It's time people start viewing retribution against traitors as a duty, and not a sin. Unfortunately leftists were ALLOWED to take over PTOs, teaching unions, tenure at universities, HR positions, government positions, etc.

2
Uzaka123 2 points ago +2 / -0

Oh I can assure you none of the people here mad about it want to help anyone. Folks here care about themselves, their families, and occasionally their direct neighbors, that's about it.

5
oraoraoraora 5 points ago +5 / -0

That's perfectly fine. If you want to live in a nice, low crime, high trust, orderly area you're not obligated to put up with the gov forcing this on you. It doesn't make you a bad Christian. People can be helped where they are, they don't have to be brought to your neighborhood in an obvious attempt to break up conservative areas and destroy their voting blocs and break the cohesion.

0
Trumpy_Bear 0 points ago +1 / -1

No, dude. It doesn't work like that. Free-marketism in land use still opposes government intervention shoving low income housing in where it doesn't belong. I want all zoning and land use restrictions gone, but I also would object to the government building low income housing near me

I think it kind of does and why the story of cain and able survives as it does. Communism is the just the macro scale version of the story. People choose bitter murderous paths over looking inward to see their own flaws/mistakes and change from the wrong sacrifices to the right ones in life. This can happen at an individual and corporate scale, of which we’ve now seen in recent history of the many manifested hell camps where the Ables of society were sent to be tortured to death by the Cains.

Or, transgender social commentator. Because being a depressed, suicidal and confused person automatically makes you an expert on healthy and lasting relationships.

6
streakybacon 6 points ago +7 / -1

The people who consider themselves "child free", who don't want children, who when they do have children become preoccupied with things like gender politics - want to tell us how to raise our children?

And guess what? It's all politics and ideology. Nothing of substance. Just like the abortion crazed, child hating, (possibly child molesting) freaks that they are - they think a child is just a vessel to pump and dump 2020s latest woke values into.

There is no love, or nurturing. Or care. They prioritise these "lessons" and would stop traditional classes if they could.

In their lonely, evil little worlds - compliance with ideology is more important than education.

4
sixfingerdildo 4 points ago +4 / -0

They confuse love and nurturing with encouragement of selfish and consequence free living.

Instead of imparting wisdom and knowledge, they they encourage self exploration and sensual experiences. Libertine values instead of community values.

13

And stay out of consumer debt altogether so no percentage of that $80K is going to debt, which makes the $80K tradesman wealthier than the $150K collage grad drowning in credit cards and student loans.

Daveramsey.com.

1
Necalli 1 point ago +2 / -1

Debt is fine and acceptable. However it has to be done with wisdom. Far too many are unwise, especially the young whom are abused by this debt education system. As with any economic enterprise, you gain money through debt, use it to setup to make more money in the future. Only difference is its yourself you are investing in, not a business. A bad business plan will cause you issues in both cases.

My dad did the electrical program, started at like $13-16/hr, now 4 years later makes $35/hr. Get a practically guaranteed raise every 6 months until hitting that $35. You are working/making money while learning, rather than having to wait until graduation to make anything.

Only reason I didn't do the same thing is because I got into IT at an early age, and am basically self taught, so I managed to break into the tech field without college or any large expenses upfront.

Thing is, we know better, and in important writing (business stuff, etc.) we'd carefully proofread and thus never make such errors.

I do the corrections here not for people like us, but rather for the people who really don't know these errors ARE errors. Because of that, even in their important writing that they self-proofread, they won't ever catch these errors. They'll go through life with everyone cringing at their homophone errors and other major errors even in very important documents while they remain clueless about it and think that everything is fine.

I’m a teacher... this EO is something that liberal and conservative teachers all agree on! Once my Biden supporting colleagues find out it’s straight from GEOTUS, they will sacrifice these children to Mollach.

4
Thun 4 points ago +8 / -4

Since most of your colleagues are democrats, I'm assuming you're a public school teacher. and if your union supports BLM, so do you!

6
tombombadil 6 points ago +6 / -0

So us conservative teachers should all just quit? We’re the ones trying to fix this shit. We are just as pissed as you are.

2
Thun 2 points ago +3 / -1

It's your conscience! I know I'd never pay a union dues who send my money to BLM. I'd find another job teaching privately or in a charter. And of course 22 states now enforce Right to Work laws.

22
Mparmory 22 points ago +22 / -0

As the parent of a child with a physical disability, I appreciate GEOTUS shining the spotlight on just how many kids in this nation have fallen between the proverbial cracks without so much as an afterthought from Union members and School District officials. The man is a true champion for our nation’s children. Biden’s only plan for disabled children is to toss their remains of most of them into a Planned Parenthood dumpster, and keep the remainders slaves of the welfare state.

No, that will never happen.

5
tombombadil 5 points ago +5 / -0

The governors will suddenly start saying that counties need to get back to in person. That is the point of this. The teachers can pout all they want, it won’t matter.

Just to remind us all: Chicago Public School teachers haven't had to show up to work since March.

CPS enrollment has gone down in recent years. CPS budget...has gone up.

It waaaaayyyy more than just Chicago.

TEACHERS' UNIONS BTFO

(Especially happy that my local teachers' union, who sent out this now-deleted abomination of a tweet, are getting fucked by this.)

Just saw that that's an 11000 character link. Wow.

3
PatrickDuffyLeg 3 points ago +3 / -0

Bummer. It doesn’t open. What did the tweet say?

8
AndrewCuomosEmmy 8 points ago +8 / -0

The push to open schools is rooted in sexism, racism, and misogyny.

Wife teaches at a charter and it is so much better than the typical public school. No tenure for teachers is number 1. While all the public school twats were hoping schools shut down, all the charter wanted to be in session. Fuck Joe Biden

2
RockyMin 2 points ago +3 / -1

Nope. That's only in the liberal blue states. I work for the public school district here, it's a red state and a red county. And no teacher unions. Teachers couldn't wait to get back to their classrooms here.

1
Juantinntwo 1 point ago +1 / -0

Seconded. 86% MAGA voting district and red (technically purple) state. Many based students and teachers. No union, no tenure. We all wanted to come back to school in my neck of the woods, but we are all so skittish about posting on social media so the obnoxious liberal teachers appear to be a bigger majority than they are. I don’t even have a social media tied to my name out of fear of cancel culture getting me canned for some stupid flippant conservative comment. I am still outnumbered due to women being more liberal in general and I’m like 1 of 3 dudes total at my school.

1
RockyMin 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah, we have liberal teachers in our district who don't like Trump, but they aren't toxic radicals or anything like that. They don't hate me because I'm a Trump supporter. There's one liberal teacher that I work very closely with, and we get along great. We always rib each other about our political leanings. Liberals in red states are way different than the liberals in blue states.

1
Juantinntwo 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah, I haven’t experienced too many crazy screeching liberals, but many many many bleeding hearts who truly believe that coddling students is actually helping instead of hurting them. They vote with their hearts and they listen to MSM who tells them that if you don’t vote for Dems who want to give handouts to voting blocks then they don’t care about poor people and don’t have a heart.

14
velocistar 14 points ago +16 / -2

Wouldn't this be pointless if Trump was going to leave office? Because this would just get undone.

Man, Trump's been doing so many actions that aren't those of an outgoing president. But I'm just unconvinced by the lack of action last week, and no action so far this week.

25
HungNavySeal300Kills 25 points ago +26 / -1

Haven't you heard of DACA. Executive orders become constitutional law, not even the Supreme Court or congress can overturn an executive order.

10
dakin116 10 points ago +10 / -0

That only works one way. All of GEOTUS's would get thrown out on Day 1 of a Biden presidency, and John Roberts would see to it. That won't happen though because GEOTUS will have a 2nd term

Every public education school should be defunded asap. I don't know how much they get per child but those checks should go directly to the students and their parents. Even if they reopen the the schools the money should go to the kids and parents and let them chose whichever school they want to go to and then sign the checks over to the school they pick. The public education system is a over bloated leftist communistic socialistic radical platform that does not teach critical thinking anymore or real history or government courses anymore. They teach children to shut up don't think and OBEY THE MASTERS. THE public education system use the federal money to have 27 administrators for one school they let the kids that won't behave rule the school's. REMEMBER THE DOG WAGS THE TAIL NOT THE TAIL WAGS THE DOG. We have let the leftist socialistic radicals dumb down our future so bad that the only things they really know is that AMERICA is horrible and how to protest against something or someone that tells or teaches the TRUTH.

schools that compete in a market economy have to respond to the people(parents) that fund them. Trump just opened schooling up the productive chaos of economic freedom.

Teachers Unions don't want to go back to work they love the Zoom bullshit staying home is easy work for liberal teachers. Fuck them we need our kids back in school.

5
DeePlorable 5 points ago +5 / -0

My best friend is a NYC school teacher. She's loving the teach from home zoom teaching gig. Since Covid shut all the schools down, all she does all day is smoke pot and get high. It is absolutely crazy and these teachers are getting away with murder.

3
trex554 3 points ago +3 / -0

They get paid the same without being in a classroom with bratty kids all day they love it but our kids suffer because of they selfish demands. Oh, we can't go to school we might get the Chinese Red Death Virus. It's the fucking common cold it's a hoax.

3
Joshua55 3 points ago +3 / -0

What's sad is a couple years ago Chicago teachers were tested for reading proficiency. They read at a 6th grade level

2
okaygroomer 2 points ago +2 / -0

I love it too. My kids are forced to go to public school by their father and the court system. Total lefty shithole of a school. Corona and school shut downs have been fucking awesome for us. We hate interacting with the communists and anti-white liberals that make up the staff of the elementary school.

4
Spawnlingman 4 points ago +4 / -0

This is huge. We are enrolling our kids in private school in Feb because the public school system has tried to destroy our kids. Its been a terrible ride since March. And now that I have hindsight, they were destroying our kids before that.

2
TheInteriorDesigner 2 points ago +2 / -0

In the process of trying to get my kids into private school now .

3
Chuckwagon 3 points ago +3 / -0

98% of teachers lack military training/backgrounds. Every military person are trained well and more importantly know how to train others. Get more military teaching equals better students. Non military won't get this.

3

I need to be able to upvote this atleast 10 times. This is trump sticking it to the governors that shut down.

3
Sand313man 3 points ago +3 / -0

Trump is on a mission...

This motherfucker is going to unite both left and right against the Biden and friends establishment....

He has a plan - and the plan is to take out all corruption.

From there he can secure a proper non- corrupt election and free democracy in USA.

He is going on a spending splurge... and it’s the right time - to save the Republic. But the left is watching... and they are some are actually getting red pilled I think.

We will never be Marxists here... but securing fair elections - comes first.

3
unicornpoop 3 points ago +5 / -2

Still won’t help me because private schools have had huge waiting lists since this fall.

2
C0untR0ckula 2 points ago +2 / -0

the smart private schools would rent or buy trailers to increase capacity. my favorite history teacher, mr. cochrane, was stationed in a trailer because the building was being renovated. NBD.

As great as this is, kids are gonna get screwed completely regardless, Denver public schools isn't teaching history or social studies at all this year

3

the teachers union in California just shit themselves.

3
Kamalas_a_Bitch 3 points ago +3 / -0

Problem is this is through CDBG funding so only inner-city kids and those in “Disadvantaged Communities” will Reap any benefit. Also CDBG funds are administered by municipalities to distribute scholarships rather than directly to the individual.

Middle class families living in nicer areas yet don’t make enough for private school are once again forgotten.

How about a bill to just fund students directly? The only way I get the benefit is if I left my kid in a commie indoctrination center for my own person gain?

Just how is sending your kid to a commie indoctrination center so Mommy and Daddy can have duel income streams 'pro-family? I teach my own children, and now grandchild, and my wife and I still have to pay for yours!

I'll vote for the first conservative and stands up and not only throws some support for those who actually put in the effort, but starts supporting policies that will lead to a massive career change for most mothers. Full time parent.

I wonder how this affects students using GI Bill benefits who have been forced away from campus lectures (ie. me). Considering my schooling and housing is already paid for, I wonder if this would be double dipping. I mean... I won't complain.
