"Help the homeless, desperate, and needy? What an absolutely wonderful idea full of Christian charity, I think everyone should open their hearts and do their part to WHOA WHAT THE FUCK GET THAT GODDAMN SHELTER OUTTA MY NEIGHBORHOOD, I PAY HEFTY HOA FEES SPECIFICALLY TO AVOID RIFFRAFF LIKE THAT CREEPING IN!!!"
Oh I can assure you none of the people here mad about it want to help anyone. Folks here care about themselves, their families, and occasionally their direct neighbors, that's about it.
That's perfectly fine. If you want to live in a nice, low crime, high trust, orderly area you're not obligated to put up with the gov forcing this on you. It doesn't make you a bad Christian. People can be helped where they are, they don't have to be brought to your neighborhood in an obvious attempt to break up conservative areas and destroy their voting blocs and break the cohesion.
No, dude. It doesn't work like that. Free-marketism in land use still opposes government intervention shoving low income housing in where it doesn't belong. I want all zoning and land use restrictions gone, but I also would object to the government building low income housing near me
Also known as NIMBY -- not in my backyard!
