There's a bunch of posts about who isn't going to get it, but I'm curious if any of you will. I'm not getting it, but I just found out one of my trump supporting friends got his today. So this made me think, are there any people here who will get it just because?

I have basically every vaccine under the sun and I won't be getting this one.

No plans to get the vaccine here. The virus has >99.9% survival rate in a healthy adult and we don't even know how long the vaccine provides immunity for; it could be as little as 6 months. It seems like short-term side effects are pretty minimal (a good sign), but we won't understand the long-term side effects for a while.
with the technology they have now developed, I will NEVER be getting another shot of anything the rest of my life.
Why would I get this vaccine? It's not like COVID-19 is this very deadly disease that will kill me, like say smallpox.
It can be very deadly. But usually only in the very obese.

Maybe. I won’t be first in line to get it though. I still need to do more research. As a medical professional that understands how a vaccine works, I know it likely will be just fine. I know a respected virologist who agrees that it shouldn’t be a worry as well. But still, the government has been wrong before. And I don’t trust that it’s safe just because they said it was. I’m evaluating my options. The only real reason I would get it is to protect some of the elderly people I care about.
