Discrimination in public accommodation by political preference is illegal in DC and they can be sued over it. Keep records, dates, who called, who you spoke with, what was said, etc. https://ohr.dc.gov/protectedtraits DC is also a single party consent state for recording audio which means only one party needs to consent to a recording.
