Poles have paid for the wealth of Jewish (but Polish citizens mostly which in my opinion is controversial because they were Polish citizens) which were killed by the Germans during WW II and that was unclaimed. It was passed as government wealth (as is now if someone dies without family). It was a deal signed by US after the war, I believe late 50's. In exchange for the Polish money (credited and paid over years or still paid as interest) US govt oblige to take care of Jews and their descents who emigrated all over the world from Poland.
Currently there is curriculum by the greedy people of whatever country to have Poland pay for unclaimed wealth again. it has passed US congress and senate, so called act 447 or JUST act. This is blatant try to just make someone pay again for same thing, given opinions about Poles that is spreaded around it easily lands in everyone eyes. Too bad they wont pay people who died here or were arrested because they were hiding people. They do generalize when we have to pay, but if it goes other way it is always by case.
