Cops didn't seem to be phased. As if they knew what was going to happen. Watch videos of combat in Afghanistan after an IED. Dudes are amped up. These guys...nothing.

Yeah that explosion was loud as hell. It's not like this is a warzone so not even a sound from the police seems extremely odd even if they were anticipating it.

Though with the camera we got, I thought the explosioning was just him rubbing his camera at first.

Combat infantryman here, that was the FIRST thing that struck me as well. Insane.

I hate all this super analysis while ignoring the obvious evil

The cops were told 'something serious is gonna happen, move to the next street' but whoever gave those orders told his own underlings to not worry about that RV??

They casually walk past it. No bomb squad called. No suspect seen in car. Yet his body parts are found? He was in the RV the whole time with cops just walking by casually?

LOL! EXACTLY! Like I mentioned, he'd be like that cop in Die Hard when the body falls on his patrol car... he'd start screaming into the radio.

I am just watching this video now, when he is fiddling with the camera there is an explosion... he casually takes 20 steps to see what happened... thinks to himself he needs his plate carrier (probably department policy and not "o shit were in a warzone better get ready... because If that were his thought, he would have also went for his long gun I am sure is in the car. and btw he is ~100 feet away from where debris fell and his breathing didn't change...

not even from the shockwave and the rush of adrenaline... not only do you know there is a bomb and where to be no where near it you have to know about it for a long time before and even then.... maybe only warzone operators would have enough ice their veins to stay that focused.

Edit, I looked back and it didn't appear to me or I cant tell if he had a soft vest underneath his uni, so getting a vest makes sense, however the point still stands... I wonder what their policy is because I can't remember the last time I saw a duty officer not wearing a vest in my state,

It's a plate carrier. He puts it on over his vest. They're issued in a lot of agencies for active shooter situations now.

Afghanistan vs Trashville Metro PD

can we compare survival rates on those?
