I really don’t know if a license is necessary. Mines been expired since 2007. I’ve been pulled over three times since it’s expiration and received 2 speeding tickets. Went to court and fought one of them. Never once did I get charged with driving without a license. The judge never brought it up, and praised me on not receiving a ticket in over 15 years. One officer never even brought up the fact that it was expired over thirteen years during the stop. I have legally registered somewhat expensive late model vehicles and insurance. Neither my insurance company, nor the DMV seem to care that my license is expired. It’s really strange, but it’s working so why change it.

Good for you. They should be illegal anyway. Along with fishing and hunting licenses. Business licenses as well.
