Don't leave, thats one of the actions that hurts America's cities and towns large and small. So many folks leave and move somewhere else, leaving a shit society behind. When what really needs to happen is the folks that have been there for years, born and raised there.... take the hard road and roll up your sleeves to make YOUR home town a better place. I guarantee you aren't the only one that wants out but would be willing to stay if it changed

We have been here over 30 years now. Leaving because the covid bullshit killed our business and wiped us out, and I refuse to become a burden to my adult son. We have jobs, friends and resources elsewhere, and frankly we believe in choosing your battleground wisely. If shit gets weird, being stuck in an urban area would not be wise for us.

Not to mention we don't have the opportunities here for hubby to pursue his dreams, and since he has been working over 50 years now, beaten cancer, a small stroke and had open heart surgery, he deserves the chance to actually do something he loves he can't do here.

Sounds like you earned it! As somebody who left the big city to start a small farm and small bussiness in the country not a day goes by I regret it. Best decision I ever made!

Having the right battleground is half of winning the battle. Urban battlegrounds are fine for young agile people. But when we assessed our skill sets, assets and choices, we decided we needed a place where those assets could be put to better use, so we are moving :-).

If things get really weird, we could lose a lot of strength and assets unnecessarily because of poor battleground choices.
