Have an android smartphone. Hubby has flip phone. Is there a way to get rid of freaking google on this phone entirely, so I can finally dump the google email I never use anyway?

I have started looking at these, but the ones I have seen say they are recommended for experienced linux users more than consumers, and Linux isn't a system I have any experience with.
But I may have to go this route at some point. GRR.
I have no contacts in my phone lol. I have all the numbers of people who call me I actually want to talk to memorized, and if I see a strange number I don't answer. If they want to talk to me bad enough, they can leave a voicemail. If I choose to reply, I do ;-).
Funnily enough I get few voicemails--and I answer very few of those since most I get are scammers claiming my apple account has been suspended (I own no apple products), or a subpoena has been issued on my social security number.
Or the extended warranty on my car is about to expire (and we had no extended warranties on our privately purchased used vehicles). Or my favorite, someone wants to buy our house for cash, and it isn't even our address.
