How is the president relevant to "free and fair elections" when they are run at state and county levels? Local politics is far more important to that effort.

oh gee, i don't know. maybe by implementing voter ID, paper ballots, signature verification, mail in restrictions, observation, poll watchers, etc. the list goes on. federal laws can be set for election security nation wide. was this really a serious question, or just a troll response?

If Trump's response to Wuhan Coronavirus gives us anything to go off of, I would guess his preference would be state and local governments handle their shit.

If Congress does the right thing and throws out fraudulent electors, pressure to fix state elections should shake out easily. Noone wants their state to be tossed every time because the state laws promote fraud.

That will only affect the Presidency and once they’ve cheated enough to hold the house and senate, the presidency will be stripped of power and they’ll rule as an aristocracy. If left to the states, eventually all states become governed like Cali.
