There are no accidental discharges only negligent ones.

Came here to say this. You are a negligent fuck if you shoot your weapon not meaning too... 99% of privates that come out of infantry school know how to properly maintain and handle their weapon. Wtf have they done to the Army I once knew and loved?!

They made it a social experiment. There is a vast difference between Privates that completed BCT in 2010 and what I get now. Glad they have DS in AIT now, only thing needed is their hands to be untied.

Oh I know how vastly different it is. I went through basic in 2003. It wasn’t that hard, it was a challenge, but something anyone could do if they tried. I was an XO at Benning in 2012 while I was being medically retired. I was in the broke dick platoon from a previous injury that flatied up and couldn’t do my job as an LT. I went to a BCT company and couldn’t believe my fucking eyes were seeing what they turned the place into. Sad really. But even then MOST privates could handle their weapon without an ND.

That was my only blessing during my time as PL. I had an amazing Platoon Daddy and NCO's that kept the Joes in line. No ND's at any point. Can't have 12B having NDs.

Woman can be mentally and physically strong (relatively speaking on the latter). I have respect for women who serve the country. However, the physical standards are objectively and substantially lower for women in the armed forces. The military should not be a social experiment. It’s insane.

As an 18 year old male I had to do 42 pushups minimum to pass the APFT, an 18 year old female soldier at the same time would max her APFT score if she did 42 pushups.

As a 150 pound 13B I had to repeatedly lift and move 100 pound M107 HE shells. It was hard for me then to repeatedly lift 2/3rds of my body weight. Most 18 year old female soldiers are going to be closer to 100 pounds than 150.

My 150 pound body with equipment while deployed was over 210 pounds. If I get shot and have to be dragged out, I’d prefer that the soldiers around me had upper body strength at least equal to my own.

Last part is what I usually tell people.

I don't expect a woman who is likely 125lbs soaking wet to drag my 180lb ass with 50lbs of gear attached to me. I'd be better off dragging myself.

There are things and missions that a woman could be utilized for. But that's more of the spook side of things.

AD is crazy rare. Like manufacturing defects where the user is not at fault. These are almost certainly Negligent Discharges.

Look at how she made it through the course. Political stunt that is dangerous to everyone and to society as a whole. Letting people do things simply because that have a certain type of genitalia is immoral and has consequences.

You think the media wants to gloat about the first female Green Beret having an ND? You think Special Forces wants to announce this to the world? Their Public Affairs just has to say, "You know who this is right? Do you really want to be the jerk that sets women back?" and POOF! You won't see it.

Trust me, it happened.

Being a woman has nothing to do with this.

Dudes do stupid shit like this all the time. I don't know why you have to be sexist about it.

I was under the impression that females were still not ideal for direct combat roles due to being unable to shoulder the weight required with strength enough to fight and help evacuate wounded (also men typically do irrational things when females are involved in life threatening situations and if wounded/KIA, they tend to enter into a bloodlust situation turning one casualty into 4).

Women on average possess less judgement and critical thinking ability. It's why women get into more accidents due to stupidity and men due to recklessness. There are differences between the sexes it just so happens men's faults become strengths in war.

True. But women Special Forces are 1/1 on ADs/NDs. That's a 100%. She was already under a microscope.
