CHECKS FOR THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS WERE SENT OUT LAST WEEK. I know this because I ran as a Republican for Congress in a Deep Blue District, and well lost. I only paid payroll taxes for my staff so I'm baffled as to why. If anyone can explain I'd greatly appreciate it. Is this just another example of Money Laundering for our Representatives?

Huh, never heard of congressional campaigns getting money from treasury. I would think that the FEC might know why these checks went out, but I would also think Treasury would have sent a letter with them citing the law involved.

I hope somebody knows, because this is interesting.

Oh, way weird. I do know unsuccessful presidential campaigns can donate unused funds to other candidates, but that stuff also generally comes with letters and things.

Obviously don't cash it ;-).

Thanks again. CPA said the same.
