It's structured as a tax credit, so it's just reducing the amount of tax you owe for the 2020 tax year. Obviously they're not gonna reduce spending elsewhere like they should in order to pay for it, but we shouldn't be pissed at getting our own money back.
Now, people who aren't paying in? Yeah they shouldn't be getting anything.
