Not that it matters because the uniparty is real, but republicans will never get elected again in any meaningful fashion. The GOP is destroying itself to cover its bases. If Trump pulls it out, the Ds will just control both houses and republicans will vote with them, and if Trump loses, the GOP will rubberstamp most of Biden's globalist agenda.
From my understanding he is trying to combine Section 230 vote with the increasing payments vote. Actually a very smart move if this is true. It will force dems to repeal section 230
Too many people reading just the headline, listening to "media" and not actually going into what is happening. Was one of them at first, have to admit that, thought Mitch was straight backstabbing Trump but he is actually backing his reasoning for the veto in the first place
He wants the 2k payments to people.
He is attacking other GOP to have them afraid, because if they don't push for the 230 appeal and other crap, Trump knows his base will get behind him and destroy the GOPers who failed to push for it
230 is legislation that was passed like 20 some years ago pertaining to the internet. It states
No provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be treated as the publisher or speaker of any information provided by another information content provider
Which means it basically gives social media, isp's etc immunity from being sued because of content posted thru or on their services. Which itself isnt bad BUT as we seen the past few years, companies like twitter, reddit, facebook have taken extreme advantage of that to the point they become publishers.
Where they are selectively restricting content from certain views ( think conservatives getting shadowbanned, banned, removal of ad rev, etc )
They are trying to have their cake and eat it too.
Repealing it would actually force companies to lose their bias. This could lead to more restrictions by like facebook but it would fall to both sides. Meaning you would see a bigger crack down on "dem" views too
I think unanimous consent means if one person objects in house or senate says no, the whole bill is rejected. So blocking unanimous consent would be the proper thing to do if my understanding is correct.
Fuck Mitch. I hope there are enough votes to push this thru. So sick of these clowns. And they actually have the nerve to ask people to donate money to there campaign. Or want votes. Fuck them
Open the country back up and stop devaluing our currency. You might get $600 or $2000 now but you are now being paid less at your job forever and your buying power with that money is less.
All this does is force a vote.
It puts members on record for a yes or no.
I support this move.
shouted voice vote vs individually recorded vote I believe was our fren's point.

Does that mean that the pork bill is dead now?
This is another "false outrage" post.
I guess the 2000$ bribe was enough for you...
They passed all the bullshit spending regardless, whether it's 600 or 2000.

looks like he would break if he falls
It's looking more and more apparent like some Dems will put the NDAA veto on the chopping block as they negotiate this payment increase.
