The culture is being permeated with it.... even "conservatives" on this site are bitching about not getting their $2000 check, when it's all paid for with debt that we will likely never pay.
We didn't take the last bullshit money, not taking this bullshit money either. Personally I will panhandle before I take government money in general, especially when I see it as a way to get people looking for UBI.
As of January 1, the only money our dear Uncle Sam will getting from us is a nominal Social Security payment. We are moving and reducing income to drop into tax exempt status. And if hubby finally admits he is old and files for social security, we can live on his check anyway, and it is below taxation level.
If you get paper checks, mail them back. Neither of us file taxes electronically, nor do we give the feds banking info. They can stuff it. ALL the paperwork the feds get from us is actual paperwork. Same with our state taxes, business taxes, etc...
Now when hubby gets social security, they may well mandate we get direct deposit. But if they don't mandate direct deposit, we won't get it.
We also operate on a cash economy in our house other than a debit card, and there is just enough in the bank to cover the few times we use the debit card. We deposit cash to cover that if we are going to use it a lot like when we are on the road.
thanks for the response... i guess I'm confused, because we pay so much into the system that if we could get any money back from the gubmint we would take it in a heartbeat. why wouldnt you cash it at a check cashing place or something? I'm not sure what I'm missing?

how do you not take a stimulus check? like you didn't cash it?
