Crap, forgot to mention when perusing their live music archive, I was surprised to see Ween on page one, as I took great pains to sneak my recording rig in to a show of theirs in the early 90s. Came out muddy as the mic was on the floor to the rear of the club. And extra surprised to see Max Creek so close to the top, as they were among the first of many shows I saw at the Wetlands in NY. They might have been opening for Phish, Blues Traveller or the Spin Doctors, or headlining. Most of those evenings were fairly hazy, but I don't recall ever not having a great time there. And special shout out to The Mother Hips 'cause I saw them on page two.
The Mother Hips! Now that's a band I know. I'm a fan of Tim Bluhm's wife too. There are some decent Leftover Salmon shows I dove into recently on the archive as well. Did you ever get into the Lowell George stuff from the Shakedown Street sessions? Would've loved to see that guy in the band. Pigpen 2.0.
D'wha? FZ fan, and just heard he booted Lowell from the Mothers not just because drugs, but he recognized he'd do better with his own band. Little Feat fan. Shakedown Street fan. Heck, I even love his daughter Inara's band The Bird and the Bee with Greg Kurstin from Geggy Tah if you remember them. Check out their album of all Hall & Oates covers. Listening to Good Lovin' now.
