I wouldn't have unregistered. I would have switched to independent. The Republicans will notice that they are losing registered Rep voters, but you can still vote for them as the better alternative out of two piles of shit.

My thinking was that I don’t plan to be voting again so why risk jury duty. I honestly don’t even know for sure if jury duty is chosen from the voter rolls or if that’s just an old wives tale, but that’s why instead of just not voting I decided to unregister.

If, and it’s a big “if”, I calm down in a couple years and decide I want to vote, then I’m sure there must be a process to re-register at that time.

jury duty is a requirement of all citizens. don't fail your civic duty there.
