Am a mid 20s male getting an advanced degree in the medical field but my classmates are basically all treating covid likes it's the deadliest disease outbreak that's ever existed.... It's infuriating to be surrounded with this attitude especially since we can look back through history and see diseases that caused far more devastation (nevermind the flu). It saddens me these will be the future providers in America. I've started being more vocal about this and now I'm ostracized from most groups but it's really no big deal since most of them have no lthing to add to my studies. Just a surreal experience I never thought I'd have. Anyways just venting a bit.

You’ll be successful in life. Thinking for yourself is a strong quality.
Have no intention of leaving because giving up won't solve anything. Just wanted to vent.
Sounds like you just called yourself to a lifetime of leadership.
The opportunity for leaders to start shaping the entire future of medicine and healthcare is now.
Everything will have to be rebuilt from the ground up.
How can I trust an industry that is universally so retarded?
Well I can at least have confidence in Redpilledyankee to make it great.
But seriously we are facing a new middle ages or extinction if we don't weed out the retards attempting to ruin everything in every field of study, invention, or research. So please be fearless and lead. Those people are complete retards. Johns Hopkins to Harvard.
Stand the Line. There's a lot of stupid out there still.
Very true, this is what happened to me as an educator. I was getting my MA for secondary education and when I suggested a different approach to what our focus should be for social studies (keep in mind, I was the history major and the other 3 guys were special ed focus) I was reprimanded and the group lied about my willingness to work with them...
After a few more incidents of thinking for myself, the director took me aside one day and basically told me shape up or leave. I left.
This sounds like Ben Shapiro, who has received a lot of criticism for his "just comply for now" advice. When does the "compliance in order to justify the path of least resistance" end?
Stand for what you believe in or ask yourself if you really believe in it? Shapiro doesnt stand when its inconvenient because he is a fraud.
Friend is a doctor in Louisiana doing his residency. Says the hospital staff is 50/50. Half are terrified and half think its stupid. My obgyn is terrified of it but she parrots the line "masks cured flu so if more wore masks covid would disappear". I don't think being a dr necessarily gives you common sense.
This is exactly why I have lost all confidence and respect for the entire "healthcare" high priesthood industry. Naked stupidity and cowardice!
They dominate the world like the outdated old corrupt CHURCHES used to.
Full of complete imbeciles, negligent murderers, and lying grifters. And a few people too naive to admit it carry the entire weight.
Nope. You're not alone. I was taking medical classes on cells right as COVID hit. I saw these people doing stupid shit based on what faceless "health authorities" dictated, none of which had any basis in science or reality.
Then I noticed the medical professionals in my circle just repeat what they are told.
Most people are fucking sheep.
Wait til you find out there's no proof you ever even had some mystical "China" flu.
And not just a regular cold or flu or pneumonia.
They act like it's lethal till someone tests positive, then they send 'em home without so much as a decongestant. (my 73 year old father, in October.)
He survived, but damn. They went from "Dear GOD, don't get Covid!!!" to "Oh, you tested positive... hm... okay, well, go home and quarantine. NEXT?!"
We're going to see the narrative shift to saying the covid pandemic, in hindsight, wasnt "the big one" all in order to establish the "new normal". No one will admit they over reacted or were wrong, no. Theyll just use it as a precursor to continue the government lockdowns in the name of health for "the next real disease". The one that has lower survival rate than 99.7%. Covid is the test run to condition us and see what they can get away with enforcing. It will never end. There will always be the next existential threat of a disease we have to change how we live over.
You are not alone. I work in the medical field as well. There are few of us but I slowly keep finding them. We stick together and have each other's backs. Keep coming here to remind yourself you are not alone.
Its nuts to me too
I know personally and also work with a fair number of analytical, statistically-minded, generally independent thinking folks, and in large part they have bought into the entirety of the covid nonsense. People I would never have expected to do zero of their own research/analysis/thought. I really don't get it either.
They're pretending to be those things.
Fate exposes all pretense.
I'm not taking their word for it, like people who call themselves intellectuals or have other people call them that just cause they said some pseudo-big brain shit once.
I mean people I know who I've seen think critically about a problem or perform successful cost/benefit analysis across different situations, etc
Find likeminded friends if it bothers you
If medical professionals are so panicky and risk adverse about an illness that could only kill less than 1% of those under 60 if they got it, then they are in the wrong profession.
it is nutso. my whole life we were told to be an individual, think for ourselves, and go against the grain. then when the time comes to truly question and pursue truth, all my peers don’t know what to do and just follow the loudest voice. it is disheartening and isolating to realize people you respected are unworthy.
Get used to life around simpletons. There are many and they are vocal in their ignorance.
It’s also how you’ll find a spouse. The one that isn’t a retarded group thinker.
Just think that these people are supposed to be among the best and the brightest our society has to offer... We've really gone downhill as a society, fast.
Keep it the good work. Fortunately, your field is in demand so you should be able to maintain your world outlook and still find success. You'll realize after you graduate that adherence to the doctrine they subscribe to is actually required for social acceptance not just in academia but in many aspects of your life. Getting a job at a hospital for example with your beliefs, if vocal, could wind you up in trouble and hurt your ability to climb the ladder.
In any case, life isn't about mindless submission to ideas. You have the quality of thought. Use it. Pass it down to your kids and continue to challenge people on their misguided beliefs.
I'm no doctor but I analyze information I'm not familiar with and make important financial decisions based on this information as my career. From what I've gathered information wise, the correct course of action from a whole perspective, not just trying to save lives by also considering all aspects of life, is to literally do absolutely nothing. If we just ignored this virus and adapted to it like we treated a new case of influenza, we'd have been must better off as a society.
I am in healthcare simulation and get to see a very wide array of medical personnel. The RNs and students I train are just as you say, while the majority of physicians and end of the line residents hate dealing with it. Especially dealing with masks in a learning area. They fucking hate it.
Yeah I automatically remove the title of Doctor or scientist from anyone promoting covid hysteria. Either you are an idiot or a liar. Both make you no viable as a doctor or scientist.
I view them as quacks.
Most will come around, some will not. My vet was fresh out of school when she came into the practice. Regurgitating everything she was taught. Over time she realized that in order to be successful she had to realize she was dealing with real people and not just a check book.
Just wait until the next time when they try to shut down the whole damn world over some common cold bug.
The AMA recently stated that racism is a public health crisis (can you prescribe a pill for this). Sorry to inform you but the medical profession is about as respected as lawyers at this point. And it's declining rapidly.
Umm, doctors and lawyers aren’t all they are cracked up to be by society.
Typically just rich kids who don’t mind going to school for way too long.
It amazes me and scares me that we know more about Covid than medical professionals.
If they are Drs. watch for their malpractice settlements in the future...
You are a rare breed but certainly not alone.
You're not alone. I'm sure you've noticed others who are quiet and seem like they're just going along to get along. They are with you, but someone has to speak up first.
Medical field as well. Yes, most doctors are bleeding heart treasonous woke libs. My past med school classmates are falling over themselves to virtue signal the vaccine on facebook 24/7. These people are useful idiots because they crave approval and fear for their safety like children. Be strong young doctor! Not alone!
Many people are impervious to facts, but you may reach a few.

you arnt alone!
Hang in there medical fren, know when to redpill and when to stay quiet (some classmates will rat you out). Ask piercing questions. Future surgeons tend to be the most based.
You’ll be the one out of your whole class to be the “great practician” for lack of a better description. Good luck and thank God at least some of our youth can think clearly and therefore critically.
No worries. Your problem is you ate thinking and living in world with a bunch of automatons. Learn, grow and experience. You will do well.
You’re right, they are brainwashed. You can try to redpill in subtle ways. “How come the flu is gone?” Ask thoughtful questions where they have to come up with the answers. It so fun to watch.
Independent thinking and a well paying job will get you farther in life than kneeling to the herd. Most of your peers are probably developmentally challenged idiots who shouldn't be sourced for any life advice. Stay the course. Avoid debt.
Keep in mind this is essentially a fad. It will pass. People will get tired of it.
