As a native of California, born and raised, I got love for California. Gavin Newsom has continuously taken my beloved home state further into the garbage.
Anecdote: my brother is stationed there, after having been to other places, he has told me that the California we knew as kids is dead. He called me frustrated and I asked him why. He told me he had to register his car in California. Would anyone care to guess how much it will cost him to register his car? $500? Nope! Maybe $800? Nope! It will cost him almost $2000 to register his vehicle.
Not saying Gavin is to blame for those fees, but he certainly hasn't made the problems in California any better.
Here's some of the proposed countermeasures the article suggests Gov. Newsom invokes:
“Third, scope out every person who’s identified with the recall. Opposition research them.”
In other words, smear them. Don't believe me? The very next line:
Translation: Dig up dirt that can be smeared all over the enemy.
Don't actually address the merits of the complaints the citizens have against him. No, commit a political ad hominem fallacy. Don't address the concerns that the state has the largest population, and yet the biggest spending problem. Don't address the concerns about prioritizing illegal immigrants over law-abiding Californians.
Fuck these people. I'm getting tired of watching them ruin my homestate. Mark my words, when I accumulate enough resources, I will make it my life's mission to restore California to the status of best state in the country.
