Can you point to a single Gaetz quote where he says 1) the election was stolen from Trump OR 2) Trump won? The reason he came off wrong in that interview is because it was unscripted & the difficulty narcissists have in hiding their narcissism is generally their Achilles heel when they're given an open platform to speak. He represents his own interests & his own future in politics, that's it.
You see, flyover country Americans have finely tuned BS sensors. The same way casino money-changers are trained to identify counterfeit bills by spending hours upon hours handling the real thing, we spend our time around honest, normal, decent, God-fearing folks & when we come into contact with a counterfeit, we know it. No amount of Gaetz astroturfing on this site will change that.
I really, really hope I'm wrong. I will eat crow in a heartbeat & be happy about it. It's just I'm usually not wrong on this type of thing. (Manufactured products have a different feel to them.) HOWEVER...people can and do change & often it's for the better. He's young & he's got time for experience to bring out more sincerity & principle, & to refocus his interests & actions. That's my hope.
