I'll have to do some research. I remember the Khazars from books on Byzantium. A group of Turkic/Mongols I think. Got rich on trade and raiding. Situated maybe in the Caucasus area. I may be confusing them with Khwarzarim who were destroyed by Genghis Khan. Thanks will look more into it. That name seems very familiar from my books on medieval/dark age history.
