Mitch will make the Democrats vote on a bill to increase to $2000 but also repeal section 230 and start an investigation into voter fraud.
If the Democrats reject this cause they don't want any investigation into voter fraud or to lose 230, then they look bad for rejecting the $2000 and look guilty for blocking the investigation. If they accept it then Trump gets 230 repealed and voter investigation whatever that leads to.
The most important thing is it shows GOP is likely behind Trump. This is all part of the plan.

Even if he was out for his own interest Mitch is smart enough to know you don't align yourself with the commies who are going to rig Senate elections, pack the court and give senators to DC/Guam/Puerto Rico therefore fucking the Republicans forever. Plus the first thing they would do is put all the Republicans who helped them get in power against the wall.
Trump signing the bill was a set up for Mitch to react this way imo.
